I have not greeted the world a merry christmas this year. Last time I did, the Yuletide was rocked by the assassination of Benazier Bhutto exactly a year ago today.
Not much of a post made up of three lines, saying “Merry Christmas to all” in three languages, I decided to delete the greetings and replaced them with what I thought was more (?) attuned to the situation. God must be crazy in gift giving at Christmas!
There’s no joy in the world. Everybody talks about ending poverty. Everybody does not understand what he is talking about. A Pangi tastes like Mango. Now, you think you know the taste of Pangi? No, you don’t. It is Mango that you know. And when one happens to be innocent about mango then everything is totally hollow, nothing but strings of words.
Social inequities were not born yesterday. Nobody really knows poverty exept people dying of poverty or people who have direct knowledge about it. That’s why leaders can’t solve this problem. Generally, it’s just politics and political rhetoric to them… a convenient mule to gain personal wealth and power. Or, perhaps some of them really know, but…(cold shoulders and shrugs)
And I think I’m not going to greet again the world a … HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR TO ALL AND PEACE ON EARTH… like I did before, with the global recession about to fall and smack at the third world.
