Evolution always started with the first freak. For Judaism it was the freak named Jesus Christ. For Societies one of them was the freak named Karl Marx. For Ape to Man, I guess there was a genetic Adam if not a genetic Eve first.

Information Heals where [mis]Information kills

Pointing to low mental-physical activity as cause of obesity opens door to another wide area for search. Less activity means less demand for food.  But that is not the case of some obese persons that are passive yet heavy eaters.

Food affects body activity. Underpaid and underfeed daily wage laborers, for example, will be acting lazy when supervisors are not around. When under watch they do move, but work seems calculated to last them through the day. Nature is dictating or influencing. Work techniques are also always sought for more accomplishment with less sweat. Conserving body energy has always been one objective of labor. Again, they are not the case of some obese persons that are already high in surplus energy but still they remain relatively passive.

Maybe there’s another crack to that, which leads to mental condition, or set of mind, or what really is programmed, either consciously or unconsciously, in the mind of an individual. What we call Laziness may be a product of the mind.

Faith  heals

That many, if not all, physical illnesses are rooted in the spirit or mind cannot be wrong. My mother died of heart failure in 1986 at the young age of 65. About five years ago I found myself in her situation. For two months, I battled her disease with Calcium blocks.

Thanks to a receptionist-nurse and to one attending physician in the East Avenue Medical Center, Quezon City, I have kicked the disease off.  They went for me like these:

Me [after feeling dizzy and after feeling my BP rising while seated in line]: Nurse, please schedule me now; I think I’m dying!

Nurse: You are not dying so go back to your line… And take it easy because if you don’t, indeed, you’ll be dead before your time!

I asked her where I can get a glass of water instead. Later

Doctor: What seems to be your problem, Sir?

Me: [while telling her my case history]… Doc, I’ve been monitoring my pulses and  they always shoot up to over 100 rpm, no, sometimes they keep rising up to,  maybe,  200rpm!

Doctor: And what does that mean! They have gone faster than that when you were running or when you had sex. Maybe you did not know it.  And you did not die! [Strapped that pump and thing around my arm and stuck that probe on my chest… asked me what I’ve been prescribed, which I was already taking for weeks before that.]…You’re not dying. Come back here on… [She gave me a date in the calendar].

I never came back. I happened to have requested my wife to get me that product information book called PIMS from the drugstore owned by my sister, where wife used to work. I remembered about the book which I saw when I did some carpentry works there.  It listed all medicines, brand names and generics, indications, contra indications and adverse reactions.  It entered me to know all about the medicines I was taking.

Surprised, all the strange feelings that triggered my BP to rise were in fact side effects of the drugs according to products information! I should have known them before. More to them, information said they are not well for people with liver impairment. Meaning, I could be lifting a rock to drop it on my other foot! I decided to [gradually] kick the drugs [500 mg slow release calcium block prescribed once a day], totally off after about a month. I could have kicked them once and for all but I did it in 3-6-9-12 days sequence, then never.

And none of that 5mg, quick acting stronger type, that always go flat inside my wallet. It’s always there until now. I came to remember or to replace them once in a while. I don’t think they are needed except for the fact that I feel more confident when I have one with me. Yeah, like in the manner of an amulet.  :-) Beside that, most of all, so what if my time is up!  When time is up,  it’s up.

Yes, faith heals. They have to be really real, because one cannot fool the self. Heart knows and speaks only true. And truth is absolute information.

Now, who says that some doctors and nurses do not practice modern Faith healing? The nurse and the doctor were right. They were trying to say that it was just me killing myself! I have not even thanked the doctor, or got to know her name. And, I think the nurse was insensible! But, thanks also to her after all. They were real angels.
